Tattoos/piercings and other notable features: I have a cowlick on the back left side of my head, but no tattoos, unfortunately. I'm afraid of needles. Trademark look: Neatly pressed jeans, a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a silver necklace with the letter "C" on it which can stand for anything that starts with "C", such as "cool", "classy", "cunning", "cute", "clever"...or "Chris" even, I guess. Eye color: Brown Height: 6'3 Nickname(s): I don't really have a nickname, but my wife calls me "Jerk" a lot. Hobbies/outside interests: Sports, Pool (not the watery kind, but the table kind), Professional Wrestling, not reading, spending time with my family. | Artist Biography I began singing when I was four years old. My father's side of the family had a ton of great musicians and singers, so it seemed like a natural fit. I remember the first song that I sang too: "Don't Close Your Eyes" by Kieth Whitley. The best part of it back then was that I couldn't pronounce my "R"'s or "L"'s. They both came out as "W"'s, so my rendition of the popular title became "Don't Cwose You Eyes". Luckily, my speech impediment has cleared. At age 10, I entered my first talent show. The school was putting it on and there were different age groups where I wouldn't have to compete against everyone in the school. When they were announcing the winners in each group, my name was not called as the winner. I immediately felt bad. Once those awards were given out, they announced that there was an "Overall Winner" that could be from any age group. My spirit didn't return all that high because in my mind, there was no way I had won that. However, I did and I remember that feeling. It was then that I realized I wanted to do this singing thing for a long time to come. Career Highlights Background in music: I learned mostly on my own, but did do choir quite a bit throughout school. I always hated the music I had to sing in choir, but it was a way to keep singing...and meet girls. Instruments: Vocals, Accoustic Guitar Former band(s): Phat Ace is my first and only. How he/she joined the band: I put a post up on a couple of bulletin boards around town and Art (lead guitar) got in touch with me. After a couple of months of sifting through people, we finally found Charlie, the bass man. At one of our first practices, my father joined on board for some sweet harmony. We landed Al (keyboard and strings) when he moved down here from Baltimore and we kidnapped Norm "The Drummer" one night while he was sound asleep, forced him to listen to my singing for 18 hours straight until he fell into a trance that forces him to play with us and only us. Musical icons/influences: Ronnie Milsap is my all-time favorite, but I also love Collin Raye, Rascal Flatts, Vern Gosdin, Conway Twitty, and Blake Shelton. Best known for...making funny (and ugly) faces during pictures. Awards: July, 2000: Entertained for Miss Arkansas Pageant ???, 2003: Winner of Arklahoma Idol June, 2007: Finalist in Karaoke Champions Contest held in Las Vegas July 4th, 2005: Opened for Ronnie Milsap Lots of other contest awards I simply don't remember. Key milestones: Nov. 28, 2007: The birth of my little girl, Jaicee Rian Chisum! Upcoming plans: To continue making music with Phat Ace in hopes that it may take me somewhere I've dreamed of for a very long time, to continue with my beautiful wife and our amazing family, to work on being simply a better person all around (I know, that will take plenty of time to accomplish).
